The territory of Quang Nam Province was a vital center of the Champa Kingdom. Major monument complexes have been discovered across Quang Nam, including the capital of Tra Kieu, the My Son Sanctuary, and the Dong Duong Buddhist Monastery. Due to the vast number of artifacts retrieved from these sites, they are presented independently in the Tra Kieu, My Son, and Dong Duong Galleries.

In addition, numerous other archaeological sites exist throughout Quang Nam; some were surveyed and studied as early as the beginning of the 20^th century, while others were discovered and excavated after 1975, including Phu Hung, An My, Khuong My, and Chien Dan. Collections from these sites present a diverse panorama of Cham sculpture, illustrating a succession of artistic styles concentrated within a single region across various historical eras of Champa.
