Quang Binh, Quang Tri and Thua Thien Hue Gallery
The provinces of Quang Binh, Quang Tri, and Thua Thien Hue are located north of the Hai Van Pass, marking the northernmost region of the ancient Champa Kingdom. A small Cham tower still stands in this area, discovered in 2001 in My Khanh Village, Phu Dien Commune, Phu Vang District, Thua Thien Hue Province.
Although few temples or towers remain standing above ground, numerous foundation traces, sculptural artifacts, and inscriptions have been discovered across northern Champa. Inscriptions dating from the 6th to the 10th centuries CE document the construction of temples dedicated to the god Shiva as well as Buddhist monuments. The artistic style of the sculptures demonstrates stylistic uniformity between this region and its southern neighbors, Da Nang and Quang Nam, during the 9th and 10th centuries CE.
